Charlotte Philpott

BSc (Hons)

DPhil Student

I am a DPhil student, funded by Kidney Research UK, working under the supervision of Prof Raj Thakker and Dr Caroline Gorvin in the Academic Endocrine Unit. The main subject of my research is monogenic renal tubular disorders, with the aim of improving understanding of the genetic and cellular mechanisms underlying them.  My research is currently focused on three disorders, affecting different segments of the renal tubules: Dent's disease, familial juvenile hyperuricaemic nephropathy (FJHN) and familial hypocalciuric hypercalcaemia.
