Catriona Charlton

BSc (Hons) Pharmacology

Research Assistant

I joined the Metabolic Research Group in 2012 as a Research Assistant. The group undertakes whole-body human physiological and cellular studies to investigate the metabolic integration within and between tissues. Some of the studies use metabolically-labelled substrates (stable-isotope tracers) to probe metabolic pathways. My role is to assist in the running of these projects along with managing and maintaining the mass spectrometers which are key pieces of equipment required for the analysis of samples enriched with stable-isotopes.

I perform sample and data analysis, am involved in method development, and supervise and train staff and students in the laboratory.
