Senior Health Care Assistant
Carla is the Senior Health Care Assistant in the University of Oxford Centre for Clinical Magnetic Resonance Research. She supports the clinical service which provides cardiac MRI scans for the NHS and research projects within the unit. Carla's role includes greeting adults and children coming for a scan, explaining the process, completing initial safety screening and getting them ready and changed. She also performs any necessary clinical or research procedures such as height, weight, ECG and blood pressure cannulation, taking blood, and processing it in the lab ready for freezing.
She also provides some administrative support to research projects.
Carla joined the unit in June 2013 coming from a background as a HCA in Cardiothoracic Critical Care.
