Andrew Graham

BA (Hons); PhD

NDCLS Health & Safety Officer/Facilities Manager

I joined the Nuffield Dept. of Pathology & Bacteriology (one of the founding departments of NDCLS) in 1983 as a graduate research assistant in Professor McGee's laboratory. After working on various projects, mainly in the field of monoclonal antibodies, in 1988 I started a PhD project in the study of Human Papillomaviruses (HPV) and cervical neoplasia, which I completed in 1993. During the 1990s I became increasingly involved with digital imaging, image analysis and telepathology.

This I continued to do in the Medical Informatics Unit with Professor Gatter and Kingsley Micklem, following the creation of NDCLS in 1999. Additionally, my work also included training in the Oracle 11 purchasing system from 2004 and Deputy Health & Safety Officer from 2003.

Since 2012 my role has been NDCLS Health & Safety Officer and Facilities Manager.
