Developing novel cardiac imaging analysis techniques
Andrew is a cardiac physiologist and Clinical Scientist who has worked in the NHS for several years, providing advanced cardiology diagnostic testing in a direct patient facing manner. He is an assessor for the National School of Healthcare Science and a member of the British Society of Echocardiography working group for the development of distance and e-learning resources.
By way of his aspirations as a clinical academic (who use their expert clinical skills to conduct high quality medical research with rapid translations to benefit patients & healthcare providers), Andrew is now undertaking his DPhil (PhD) within the Oxford Cardiovascular Clinical Research Facility under the primary supervision of Professor Paul Leeson.
Current research projects he is involved with aim to improve the utility of common cardiology tests, such as Echocardiography, by discovering novel imaging biomarkers and developing new analysis techniques. Applications of his research are to the assessment of heart failure, diastolic function and COVID-19.
