Amber-Rose Littlefield

Research Assistant

I obtained a B.Sc. degree in Biochemistry from the University in Birmingham, where I developed a strong interest in the fields of immunology and virology.

After completing my degree, I went straight into industry where I worked for a Biotechnology company in Oxford for three years producing both native and recombinant antigens and antibodies. Two of these years were spent working within the R&D department where I primarily focussed on molecular cloning associated projects. These projects included construction of haemagglutinin and neuraminidase influenza antigens, Dengue virus VLPs and Crimean Congo Haemorrhagic Fever proteins. I was also heavily involved in both protein purification and cell culture projects.

I've recently joined the Oxford Gene Medicine group as a Research Assistant. As part of the virus production team, I am producing lentiviral vectors for use in novel gene therapies to prevent lung associated conditions including surfactant protein B deficiency and Cystic Fibrosis.
