Agata Juszczak

MRCP, Specialty Certificate in Endocrinology and Diabetes

Sir George Alberti Clinical Research Fellow & DPhil student

  • ST6 in Endocrinology and Diabetes

I graduated from the Medical University of Warsaw, Poland; where I also took part in  research investigating in vivo pancreatic islets transplant in an experimental model. I have completed most of my clinical postgraduate training in the UK and am a final year specialist registrar in Endocrinology & Diabetes on the Oxford rotation.  Currently I am taking time out of the rotation to focus on research.  In 2014 I was awarded a Diabetes UK Sir George Alberti clinical training fellowship which supports my research on the  investigation of the value of plasma biomarkers for identifying cases of Maturity Onset Diabetes of the Young (MODY) due to HNF1A mutations, which remains my main research interest. I am also interested in the management of different types of monogenic diabetes and investigation of HNF1A variants as potential susceptibility alleles for type 2 diabetes.
