The weekly bulletin details what has happened in the previous week, what is happening in the coming week and any other items of note.

It is hoped that this will reduce the volume of emails being received by OCDEM staff, on a regular basis, advising of seminars, congratulations and other news.

If you have items to be included in this bulletin please email oracle@ocdem.ox.ac.uk

The OCDEM Newsletter has been introduced as a direct result of the OCDEM Athena Swan Bronze application process where it was highlighted by staff that they would like to know more about 'what is going on in the building'. Rather than asking people to give regular seminar to update on the 'what is going on' we thought delivering updates to staff inboxes would be a good way to do this.

Your departmental online profile is a chance for you to tell others about what you do, showcase your connections and highlight your publications where relevant. All staff and students in the department are eligible for a profile.

It has become increasingly important to have an online presence in order to make new connections, share ideas and keep up with the latest developments. This section will take you through some of the ways you can build your digital profile.

There are many opportunities for you to share your research outside of the published literature. This section will take you through various options including online profiles, social media and taking part in public engagement activities. Email communications@rdm.ox.ac.uk if you have any questions related to this topic, or would like tailored advice on communicating your work and public engagement.

Each RDM Division has its local financial administration team who can support you with ordering goods and services, claiming back travel expenses, applying for grant funding, management of research awards and any financial queries you may have.

Expenses incurred wholly, necessarily and exclusively in respect of business carried out on behalf of the University will be eligible for reimbursement, provided they satisfy the guidelines set out in the University’s Expenses and Benefits Guide.

The University uses R12 Marketplace, an electronic purchasing solution that is part of the University's Oracle Financials system and the iProcurement module. Selected University approved suppliers have catalogues which are available for users to purchase goods and supplies at University-wide negotiated prices.
