Jillian Simon is a senior post-doctoral scientist in Cardiovascular Medicine working alongside Professor Barbara Casadei. Her work has identified a novel mechanism through which PKA, in it’s oxidized form, protects the heart from ischemia reperfusion injury by regulating lysosomal calcium release.

Jillian has also been selected by the American Heart Association as one of the finalists for the Melvin L. Marcus Early Career Award in Cardiovascular Medicine, which will be presented later this month.
