Dr Quan Zhang, a postdoc with Prof Patrik Rorsman, who has been awarded a Diabetes UK RD Lawrence Fellowship.

The fellowship is for 5 years and Quan will be studying the "KATP channel-dependent and independent regulation of the glucagon-secreting pancreatic α-cell". The RD Lawrence Fellowship is a career development fellowship that enables postdoctoral researchers to establish their independence in diabetes research. The Fellowship was established by Diabetes UK in 1976 in recognition of the life and work of the late Dr RD Lawrence, co-founder of Diabetes UK.
