Many congratulations to researchers from University of Oxford Centre for Clinical Magnetic Resonance Research (OCMR) for taking home 2 prestigious awards from the CMR2018 Joint EuroCMR/SCMR Meeting in Barcelona (31 Jan - 3 Feb, 2018).

Professor Neubauer with winners Dr Alex Liu and Professor Vanessa Ferreira

Dr. Alexander Liu won the Early Career Award (Translational) based on his work, titled "Microvascular Dysfunction is a Coronary Artery Specific Phenomenon, associated with Elevated Microvascular Resistance, Myocardial Hypo-Perfusion and Dysfunction - Time for a Paradigm Shift". Alex is supervised by Vanessa Ferreira, Stefan Piechnik and Stefan Neubauer in the Division of Cardiovascular Medicine.  This is the second year running that Alex has won this award

Prof. Vanessa Ferreira, Associate Professor of Cardiovascular Medicine, was awarded the "1st Dudley J. Pennell Award 2018" by the SCMR for her original research paper published in the Journal of Cardiovascular Magnetic Resonance (JCMR), titled "Native T1-mapping detects the location, extent and patterns of acute myocarditis without the need for gadolinium contrast agents" (DOI  https://doi.org/10.1186/1532-429X-16-36). This paper received the highest number of citations through 31st December 2016.
