  • Mr Holger Heinrich Burchert worked on ‘Immediate Exercise Response and Long-Term Adaptation to Exercise Training of the Preterm Adult Cardiac Phenotype’ and was supervised by Professor Paul Leeson and Associate Professor Adam Lewandowski (CCRF, CVM).
  • Dr Matthew Burrage worked on ‘Novel Stress T1-mapping Applications for the Assessment of Cardiovascular Disease’ and was supervised by Associate Professor Vanessa Ferreira, Professor Stefan Neubauer and Associate Professor Stefan Piechnik (OCMR, CVM).
  • Dr David Thomas Cain worked on ‘Role of CD1a-reactive T cells in peanut allergy’ and was supervised by Professor Graham Ogg and Dr Clare Hardman (MRC HIU, MRC WIMM, IMD).

  • Ms Dimitra Dimou worked on ‘Understanding the interplay between RUNX1 and Polycomb proteins in leukaemias with fusion proteins’ and was supervised by Professors Thomas Milne (MRC MHU, MRC WIMM, NDCLS) and Irene Roberts (Paediatrics).
  • Dr Chathuranga Lakmal Fonseka worked on ‘Molecular mechanisms underlying the immune response to dengue’ and was supervised by Professor Graham Ogg and Dr Clare Hardman (MRC HIU, MRC WIMM, IMD).
  • Mr Grigore-Aristide Gafencu worked on ‘The impact of ageing on the human haematopoietic stem cell and memory T cell compartments through the lens of single cell transcriptome analysis’ and was supervised by Professors Paresh Vyas and Claus Nerlov (MRC MHU, MRC WIMM, NDCLS). 
  • Dr Parag Ravindra Gajendragadkar worked on ‘Understanding the role of NOS1AP on ECG parameters and arrhythmogenesis: insights from mice and men’ and was supervised by Professor Barbara Casadei (CVM), Dr Jillian Simon (formerly CVM) and Professor Jemma Hopewell (NDPH).
