The NDCLS Athena SWAN self-assessment team (SAT) was originally established in July 2012 after an open invitation email to all members of the division and introductory seminars. The members represent a wide variety of work/life balance experiences and caring responsibilities eg recent maternity leaves, children at different ages, flexible working, and dual career families. They have organised themselves as self-identifying focus groups comprising individuals at either an early (students), mid (postdoctoral scientists and senior research assistants) or late senior scientists) stage of their academic career.
