How data is gathered
Participants fill in a lifestyle questionnaire, have body shape measurements taken and a DEXA scan performed to measure body composition. They then have some blood and urine taken for biochemical analysis and DNA extraction for genetic analysis.
Participants may be invited back for further procedures such as a fat biopsy, or a further blood or urine sample. All samples are stored under the OCDEM HTA licence and data is stored in on a secure server.
