Honorary Clinical Lecturer

Sam joined the Oxford Centre for Diabetes, Endocrinology and Metabolism as a Clinical Lecturer and Specialist Registrar in Diabetes & Endocrinology in March 2015. Sam has previously undertaken an NIHR academic clinical fellowship and externally funded PhD from 2009 to 2013, during which time he won a number of national awards from Diabetes UK and Association of British Clinical Diabetologists. His major research interests are around risks of macro- and micro-vascular complications of type 2 diabetes, including interventions to reduce these risks and designing decision aid software to support selection of glucose lowering therapies in type 2 diabetes. In his spare time, Sam enjoys travelling and is an occasional runner, swimmer and cyclist.
