Congratulations to Professor Rury Holman who has been elected as a Fellow of the Academy of Medical Sciences for his outstanding contribution to medical science.

Professor Holman joins 45 other leading researchers from around the UK, including five other Oxford researchers, to be elected as Fellows of the Academy this year.

The honour recognises outstanding contributions of individual researchers to advancing medical science or application of scientific knowledge or understanding in an innovative way, to bring about advances in human health and welfare.

Professor Holman joins over 1000 existing Fellows who are leading medical scientists from hospitals, academia, industry and the public service. Fellows are central to the Academy's success as the independent body in the UK promoting advances in medical science, and campaigning to ensure these are translated into benefits for patients.
