Sponsored by Lilly Diabetes and EASD this course is hosted by Oxford University’s Clinical Departments and open to clinically qualified doctors with an interest in research in endocrinology and diabetes. Accommodation at Corpus Christi College and meals included in the registration fee.

Criteria and eligibility for the Course

The Course, sponsored by Lilly Diabetes and EASD, provides an introduction to research in the fields of clinical diabetes/endocrinology. Applications are welcomed from clinically qualified doctors who have are considering or have recently begun clinical research but have not received a higher (post-graduate) qualification. Applicants should be members of EASD and have received their medical degree not more than 7 years before 1st January 2021.

We plan to hold a Covid-safe course; details of vaccination and testing requirements for the venue, Oxford Centre for Diabetes, Endocrinology and Metabolism (OCDEM). will be available closer to the course dates. It is the participants’ responsibility to comply with these regulations.

Cost of the Course

The registration fee for the Course is Euro 250. Participants are expected to cover their own travel costs and are advised to seek travel grants from their host institutions or professional societies. Further advice on this is available if needed.

The application must include the following:

  1. A curriculum vitae giving your age, place of birth, current professional address (with email address) and full details of education and academic and/or clinical career to date. There should be a complete list of publications and mention of any meetings or workshops attended. Please also include a photo.
  2. A one-page letter describing how you meet the requirements for the Course including current research interests and a brief explanation of how you think that the Course will help your research.
  3. A one page letter of support from your Head of Department indicating your suitability for the Course. This letter should also describe the department’s activities in clinical research.
  4. EASD membership number and proof of current membership.
  5. All information will be treated confidentially and will be shared with the Robert Turner Course Steering Group who will make the selection.
