We are pleased to announce that Dr Barbara Fielding of the OXLIP Group has been awarded the Cuthbertson Medal for 2010 by the Nutrition Society.

We are pleased to announce that Dr Barbara Fielding of the OXLIP Group has been awarded the Cuthbertson Medal for 2010 by the Nutrition Society.  The award was made based on her contributions to studies of lipid metabolism in humans where stable isotope tracers were used to help unravel the complex routes of fatty acid partitioning after a meal.  Ultimately, the findings will be used to help support specific dietary and pharmacological recommendations.

The Nutrition Society Cuthbertson Medal has been awarded annually since 1990 as a tribute to Sir David Cuthbertson.

Dr Fielding will be giving a lecture entitled ‘Tracing the fate of dietary fat: metabolic studies in humans’ at the Annual British Association for Parenteral and Enteral Nutrition conference on 3 November 2010.  A paper will subsequently be published in Proceedings of the Nutrition Society.
