While press releases can reach a wide audience if they are picked up by the media, blogs allow you to go into more detail about your research. There are a number of opportunities to write blogs within the University.

Researchers based in the MRC WIMM can share their findings via the WIMM Blog. If you would like to write for the MRC WIMM blog, please contact blog@imm.ox.ac.uk

The University also hosts the Oxford Science Blog, which is read by a large and general audience. They are always looking for new content, so if you would be interested in writing about your latest finding, please contact RDM Communications who will be able to work with you to pitch your article to the University media team.

If you’re looking for external platforms to publicise your work, try getting in touch with your funding body as funders often feature guest blogs from their researchers. There may also be opportunities through publishers, such as The Node – a blog hosted the journal Development.
