Jakob Haldrup Jensen

Postdoctoral Research Scientist in Gene Therapy

Delivery

My research in the Gene Medicine Group is focused on developing new vehicles for delivery of genome editing toolkits, aiming to circumvent key issues with current viral and non-viral delivery strategies. By incorporation of ribonucleoprotein (RNP) complexes into retroviral particles, the packaging limit is expanded and the cargo is delivered in a transient manner. My role as a Postdoctoral Research Scientist is to further harness the platform for therapeutic use in preclinical models of severe genetic defects in the pulmonary system.

Before joining the Gene Medicine Group, I worked as postdoctoral researcher at Department of Biomedicine, Aarhus University. My work included gene correction by base editing and prime editing with delivery via engineered nanoparticles. Prior to this, I obtained my PhD degree in Molecular Medicine and M.Sc. in Biological and Chemical Engineering at Aarhus University.
