The Society of Endocrinology's Starling Medal recognises mid-career researchers 'whose work has contributed to exceptional scientific advances in endocrinology.'

Professor Hodson, who earlier this year was also awarded the title of Professor of Metabolic Physiology at the University of Oxford, was the 2018 winner for the prestigious Starling medal.

She delivered the Starling Medal lecture to a packed audience on 19th November at the Society of Endocrinology annual meeting.

Professor Hodson said: "It is definitely a privilege to receive such an acknowledgement from the Society of Endocrinology, and be named amongst very esteemed previous recipients."
