Head of Strategic Research Development

I am Head of Strategic Research Development in the RDM Research Strategy and Funding team. I am responsible for research strategy planning and development in RDM this includes:

  • horizon scanning for new funding opportunities
  • development of strategy and policy
  • support for major bids and scientific initiatives
  • overseeing RDM’s research funding portfolio
  • support for PIs
  • support for applications for Associate Professor and Full Professor titles
  • oversight of communications and public engagement

I joined the University of Oxford in April 2023 from UK Research and Innovation where I held a number of roles in grant funding, research strategy and policy. I am a scientist by training, with a background in cell and molecular biology. After gaining my PhD from the University of Edinburgh I spent nine years in academic research at the University of Queensland and then the University of Texas.
