Prenali Dwisthi Sattwika

MD

DPhil Student

Prenali Dwisthi Sattwika is an awardee of the Indonesia Endowment Fund for Education scholarship who joined the Cardiovascular Clinical Research Facility (CCRF) in 2022. She is reading for DPhil in Medical Sciences under the supervision of Professor Paul Leeson, Professor Adam Lewandowski, and Dr Winok Lapidaire. She graduated as a medical doctor and internal medicine specialist from Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM), Yogyakarta, Indonesia. She has been a lecturer at the Department of Internal Medicine, Faculty of Medicine, Public Health, and Nursing, UGM since 2019, a researcher at the Clinical Epidemiology and Biostatistics Unit UGM, and a member of Cochrane Indonesia since 2021.

She is involved with several clinical studies at the CCRF, mainly aiming to examine the pattern of disease development that may occur in the offspring born to hypertensive pregnancy. The pattern of changes will be explored from the heart, brain, liver, and kidneys using modalities such as echocardiography or magnetic resonance imaging and incorporated into computational modelling. The data is expected to reveal the hidden burden or risk that the offspring born to hypertensive pregnancy might be facing, in which earlier intervention may decrease the risk for disease development in later life.
