Dr Tatjana Sauka-Spengler (WIMM) was awarded a Lister Institute Research Prize Fellowship in 2013 to support her research on ‘Decoding gene regulatory circuits controlling multipotency of neural crest’.

She gave her Lister Prize Seminar on Monday 23 June 2014 in Merton College, alongside Dr Simon Draper (Jenner Institute, NDM) who was also a recipient of a Fellowship. These very prestigious fellowships are one-off awards which seek to help support and nurture future leaders of biomedical research. They provide funding (£200,000) which can be used to enhance or expand an on-going research activity or enable a new area to be developed. The awards are aimed at younger, rather than established, researchers who might be in their early years of running their own groups. Only three fellowships are awarded each year in a highly competitive process.
